Kerala Crime Files 2: Release Date, Time, Streaming Details About New Malayalam Release
The hunt is back, and this time it's personal. Kerala Crime Files, the gritty Malayalam web series that made waves with its first season, is returning with a darker and more intense second chapter. Titled Kerala Crime Files: Hunt for CPO Ambili, the Malayalam series is all set to hit the streaming platform, this week.
Directed once again by Ahammed Khabeer, and penned by Bahul Ramesh of Kishkindhaa Kaandam fame, the second season promises a gripping mix of suspense, internal conflict, and chilling revelations. The show marks the return of Aju Varghese and Lal in lead roles, along with a powerful ensemble cast including Indrans, Harisree Asokan, Noorin Shereef, Sanju Sanichen, and Jeo Baby.

What's the Plot This Time?
The second season isn't just about solving a case - it's about peeling back the layers of a police force that's as broken as the society it serves. The story revolves around the sudden disappearance of CPO Ambili Raju, played by the legendary Indrans. His blood-stained phone, discovered in a drainage ditch, is the only clue - and it's enough to shake the entire department.
As suspicions mount and the public demands answers, SI Noble (Aju Varghese) is tasked with heading a special investigation. But as the trailer suggests, this isn't just a missing persons case - it's a rabbit hole of betrayal, power struggles, and institutional decay.
Cast and Crew Season 2
Arjun Radhakrishnan as SI Noble
Indrans as CPO Ambili Raju
Harisree Asokan as Ayyappan
Renjith Shekhar as Praveen Chandran
Noorin Shereef
Jeo Baby
S. P. Sreekumar
Shibla Fara
Why the Buzz?
The recently dropped trailer has already stirred curiosity across social media, with viewers hooked by its haunting visuals and cryptic voiceovers. The tone is noticeably darker than the first season - think less routine procedural, more psychological thriller. Themes of police brutality, moral ambiguity, and inner rot in the system are front and center.
The background score by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Jithin Stanislaus dial up the tension, making this season more atmospheric and emotionally loaded.
When and Where to Watch
The new season drops on JioHotstar on June 20, 2025, nearly two years after the debut season premiered in June 2023. The platform announced the release date along with the trailer, sending fans of the series into a frenzy. It is expected to be out on Friday, 12 am.
With the original team back - including editor Mahesh Bhuvanend - Kerala Crime Files 2 looks ready to deliver a deeper, darker dive into the shadows of law enforcement.
Mark your calendars. This isn't just another mystery - it's a hunt through the murkiest corners of power and conscience.
