Kavya Gowda's Hubby Misbehaved, Took Off His Pants In Front of Us: Counter-Claims Emerge

What began as an alleged attack on television actress Kavya Gowda and her husband Somashekar has now taken a dramatic turn, with explosive counter-allegations emerging from within the same family. Prema, the wife of Somashekar's half-brother Nandish, has publicly challenged the claims of assault and stabbing, alleging instead that she and her husband were subjected to provocation, humiliation, and physical violence inside what she describes as their shared family home.

Prema's account sharply contradicts the version earlier presented by Kavya Gowda's family, which claimed that Somashekar was stabbed during a violent altercation and had to be hospitalised. While police continue to investigate the incident, Prema has accused Kavya Gowda, her husband Somashekar, and Kavya's sister Bhavya Gowda of fabricating the attack narrative to forcibly evict her family from the house.

According to Prema, the dispute revolves around a long-simmering property conflict. She said the family lives in a three-storey house owned by their uncle, with different family members occupying separate floors. "Our uncle allowed all of us to stay here. We live on the first floor, while Kavya and her family stay on the second floor," Prema said, alleging that Kavya has been attempting to claim exclusive rights over the property.

Prema claimed she remained silent for years out of respect for her father-in-law and elders in the family. "I was patient for a long time. But that patience was mistaken for weakness," she said, adding that tensions escalated when Kavya's domestic help allegedly entered her kitchen without permission. "When I questioned her, she walked away. Soon after, Kavya came shouting that this was her house and we should leave."

The situation allegedly worsened when Somashekar joined the argument. Prema levelled serious allegations against him, claiming he behaved in a "disgusting and unacceptable manner" during the confrontation. "In the middle of the fight, he removed his pants....misbehaved in front of us without even thinking that there are women around..," she alleged, stating that she "can't explain". Prema further claimed that Kavya's sister Bhavya reacted slapped her husband during the argument.

Adding to the allegations, Prema accused Bhavya of physically attacking Nandish and claimed that Kavya's sister also tore her gold chain during the scuffle. She further alleged that in her absence, Kavya and Somashekar entered her portion of the house, broke open a lock, took photographs, and removed certain belongings. "She is an actress. She knows how to present things so people believe her version," Prema said, questioning the credibility of the initial claims.

Prema has also categorically denied allegations of a knife attack. "There was no stabbing. This is a false story created because I finally spoke up," she said, adding that Somashekar later called her father and verbally abused him. "All this is happening because I refused to stay quiet anymore."

Following these developments, Prema confirmed that she has filed a formal complaint against Kavya Gowda, Somashekar, and Bhavya Gowda. An FIR was registered late Monday night, January 26, at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station.

The incident, which occurred on Monday evening at the family's residence in NRI Layout, Bengaluru, had earlier made headlines after reports claimed that Kavya Gowda and Somashekar were assaulted by relatives, resulting in Somashekar being admitted to a private hospital. Police sources had said his condition was stable.

Kavya Gowda, who rose to fame through reality shows like Pyate Mandi Kaadige Bandru and acted in popular Kannada serials including Gandhari and Radha Ramana, married businessman Somashekar in 2021. The couple has been living with extended family members since then.

With complaints and counter-complaints now on record, police have stated that all allegations are being examined, and statements from all parties will be verified before further action. The case has once again highlighted how domestic disputes, particularly those involving shared property, can rapidly spiral into serious criminal allegations.
