Karuppu 1st Week Box Office Collection: Here's How Much Suriya's Film Earned

Karuppu starring Suriya continues its impressive run at the Tamil Nadu box office, emerging as one of the major Tamil hits of the year. The action drama has already grossed ₹144.36 crore worldwide, while its India net collection stands at a strong ₹124.62 crore after entering its second weekend.

The film opened on a solid note with ₹15.50 crore net on its first Friday despite facing stiff competition and mixed pre-release expectations. However, the movie picked up momentum rapidly over the weekend. Day 2 collections jumped to ₹24.15 crore, followed by an excellent ₹28.35 crore on Sunday, which remains the film's highest single-day collection so far, Sacnilk reported.

The strong weekend numbers underlined the massive fan following of Suriya, especially in Tamil Nadu where the film has reportedly witnessed packed theatres across several centres. Occupancy too saw a significant rise during the first weekend, moving from 46.9% on opening day to an impressive 64.3% on Sunday.

Week 1 Total

Although weekday collections witnessed the expected drop after the opening weekend, the film maintained decent hold throughout the first week. Even on weekdays, Karuppu managed double-digit collections for most days, indicating stable audience interest beyond fan-driven openings.

The second weekend began on a steady note with ₹7.80 crore on the second Friday. Early estimates suggest that Day 9 collections currently stand at ₹2.97 crore live, with evening and night shows expected to boost the numbers further.

Trade analysts believe the film's performance in the coming days will determine whether it can march towards the ₹150 crore India net milestone. The movie has particularly performed well in Tamil Nadu, while overseas markets have also contributed significantly to the overall gross.

For Suriya, Karuppu marks yet another major commercial success and further strengthens his box office pull after a series of well-received performances in recent years.
