Kara Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Dhanush's Tamil Film?

Dhanush's latest Tamil movie Kara has hit the screens on Thursday. The movie has Mamitha Baiju has played the female lead.

Vignesh Raja-directorial Kara has KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Rajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sreeja Ravi in the cast. The movie has GV Prakash Kumar's music, Theni Eswar's cinematography and Sreejith Sarang's editing.

The Tamil movie had generated fairly good hype before its release. With its promos and marketing, Dhanush's new movie was poised to get a good start at the box office.

Sathish Kumar: #Kara offers a promising mix of emotion and thriller. The first half impresses with heartfelt family drama and standout performances from KS Ravikumar and Dhanush. The story transitions neatly into a heist format, ending with an engaging interval. The second half delivers a rural heist thriller elevated by GV Prakash's energetic BGM, though it follows a more straightforward narrative path that occasionally feels familiar

Though it moves at a measured pace and leans more towards a sincere, character-driven narrative than high-octane commercial entertainment, it remains a good, meaningful watch with strong moments

ForumKeralam: #Kara An engaging first half followed by a mediocre second half. The setup and momentum in the first half are well-paced, with a superb stretch leading into the interval that works really well.

However, the second half doesn't carry the same impact. The emotional moments fail to connect as intended, and the routine cat-and-mouse portions lack the expected thrills. While Dhanish delivers a solid performance throughout, the overall film doesn't fully live up to expectations.

I personally felt Mamitha Baiju didn't make any impact to story.. 😒 GV Prakash background score 🙌🏻🔥 the whole second act felt melodramatic which is the drawback.. despite some flaws this is a good watch !!

Overall a GOOD MOVIE !!

@gvprakash's BGM which ups the ante in intense sequences. Vignesh Raja has written and set this up as a proper slow burn thriller, looking forward to the second half.

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #Kara at interval. Excellent first half that's so well constructed with piercing emotional drama and an entertainingly solid build-up to the heist. Takes its time to take-off but manages to keep the proceedings very engaging. Expecting the second half to turn into a more immersive thriller.

As for @dhanushkraja, I honestly don't even know how to describe him anymore. No matter what kind of role he is given, he completely owns it and elevates it effortlessly. His performance is most powerful, truly natural and highly engaging.

The screenplay moves at a super fast pace and keeps you hooked from start to finish without any dull moments. Overall, it delivers a thoroughly gripping experience and works brilliantly as a theatrical watch. Definitely a big winner 🏆
