Kantara 2 Advance Booking Begins In Bengaluru; Tickets In Huge Demand In Karnataka

The advance booking of tickets for Rishab Shetty's much-awaited movie Kantara 2 or Kantara: A Legend Chapter - 1 has began on Friday.

It has started in Bengaluru, Mysuru and a few other districts in Karnataka.

As expected, tickets are selling like hotcakes and at least 30 per cent of the tickets were sold out on BookMyShow in just one hour after the advance booking started on Friday. Over 160 shows were listed in the booking portals, and Kantara 2 is expected to get over 1000 shows on day 1 in Bengaluru alone.

The reservation of tickets for October 2 to 5, so far, in both single screens and multiplexes. The first show begins at 6.30 am in many single screens.

However, multiplexes start the first show after 7 am on October 2.

Siddeshwara, Gopalan Miniplex, Ravi Digital, Gopalan Cinemas (Mysore Road), Gopalan Mall (Sirsi Circle), Inox (Mall of Asia), PVR (Kanakapura Road), PVR Orion Mall, Balaji Theatre, Rajkamal, Srinivas Theatre, KRG Soundarya Mahal, Sri Renuka Prasanna, VR Cinemas, Swagath Shankar Nag, Victory Cinemas, Vaishnavi and Vaibhavi Cinema, Veeresh Cinemas, Manasa Theatre and Sri Venkateshwara are some of the cinema halls for which the fans can book tickets.

Kantara 2 will release on October 2 in multiple languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages. Only the advance booking for other language versions is yet to begin.

Cashing in on the hype, most single screens and multiplexes are dedicating most of their screens to Rishab Shetty's film on October 2 in Karnataka.

On the other hand, the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday stayed the Siddaramaiah government's recent decision to cap the maximum price of movie tickets at ₹200 across all theatres, including multiplexes.

It means the tickets for Kantara 2 are not cheap and the fans will have to shell out huge amount to watch the movie in the first few days.

For the special 6.30 am shows in single screens, ticket price ranges from Rs 400 to Rs 700. However, the tickets are sold as high as Rs 800-1000.
