Kannappa: Mohanlal To Play Kirata, First-Look Poster Out For Vishnu Manchu-Starrer

Mohanlal's fans were thrilled on Monday morning when the look poster of the actor in the film "Kannappa" was unveiled. The actor will portray Kirata in this Vishnu Manchu film, which features a star-studded cast. Mukesh Kumar's "Kannappa" is inspired by the legend of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva.

In the poster, Mohanlal appears fierce in a tribal guise, with black face paint, a large beard, and long hair. Dressed as the mythological character, he wields a sword. The poster describes his character as "Master of the Pashupatastra! The victor over the victorious. The legendary kirata of the forest."

Mohanlal's Special Appearance

Vishnu Manchu shared the poster on X, expressing his excitement about working with Mohanlal. He wrote, "'KIRATA'! The legend Sri. Mohanlal in #Kannappa. I had the honor of sharing screen space with one of the greatest actors of our time. This entire sequence will be 💣."

The movie is based on a true story and follows Kannappa's journey as an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Earlier this year, actors Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, and Prabhu Deva attended the Cannes Film Festival to showcase the teaser for this fantasy drama.

Positive Reception at Cannes

After screening at Cannes, Vishnu shared his excitement on X: "We showcased the teaser of *Kannappa* here in Cannes, and it received an overwhelmingly positive response! International distributors, local Indians, and everyone who saw it absolutely loved it. I am excited and have butterflies in my stomach after witnessing such fantastic reactions."

The film is produced by Mohan Babu and boasts an impressive cast including Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar. The screenplay for "Kannappa" has been crafted by Vishnu Manchu along with Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad contributing to the story.

"Kannappa" is set to hit theatres on April 25, 2025.
