Kannada Actor Sarigama Viji Passes Away At 76

Veteran Kannada actor Sarigama Vijay aka Sarigama Viji, who was undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital in Yeshwanthpur in Bengaluru, passed away on Wednesday. He was aged 76.

His condition was critical in the last few days and he was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His son has confirmed the news of his death.

A Stalwart in Sandalwood

Sarigama Viji is a familiar figure in the Kannada entertainment industry. His journey began in 1980 with a small role in the film 'Belavalada Madilalli', directed by the Geetapriya. From that humble start, Sarigama Viji built a prolific career, acting in 269 films and working as an assistant director for 80 movies.

Apart from his contributions to cinema, he was also a pioneer in Kannada television, having directed and acted in over 2,400 serial episodes, earning him admiration for his versatility and dedication.
