Kangana Ranaut Slams Bollywood Celebs As 'Stupid And Shallow': Criticises Industry Parties
Actor Kangana Ranaut criticizes Bollywood celebrities as 'self-absorbed' and 'unintelligent', describing industry parties as traumatic experiences.
Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has expressed her disdain for Bollywood celebrities and their social gatherings. In a conversation with Raj Shamani on his podcast, she described Bollywood stars as 'self-absorbed, unintelligent, and clueless'.
She also mentioned that attending Bollywood parties feels like 'trauma' to her.

When asked about her friendships within the industry, Kangana stated, "I'm not Bollywood kind of a person, I can't be friends with Bollywood people for sure. Bollywood people so just full of themselves. They're stupid, they are dumb, protein shake...They are like grasshoppers, totally blank. How do you be friends with such people? They have no idea of what's going on where. They have no conversations." She added that she has seen enough of the industry to form this opinion.
Bollywood Celebrities' Routine
Kangana elaborated on the daily routines of Bollywood actors when they aren't filming. According to her, their day typically involves waking up in the morning, engaging in some physical training, taking an afternoon nap, hitting the gym again in the evening, and then either sleeping or watching TV at night.
She mimicked celebrities discussing branded bags, cars, diets, relationships, and breakups at parties. "I'll be very shocked to find a decent person in Bollywood who can talk beyond branded bags or cars...It's embarrassing the talks they are having. A Bollywood party for me is like a trauma...Bollywood parties, if you think some high-class party is going on, something intriguing is happening with people with personalities, or intellect, or art, no nothing. All so shallow, they are dimwits, they are completely stupid," she said.
Kangana's Upcoming Film
The actor will next appear in 'Emergency', a film she has directed herself. The movie features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in significant roles. It is scheduled for release worldwide on September 6, 2024.
'Emergency' is produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films and focuses on the period when an emergency was declared in India in 1975. Kangana portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this political drama that delves into one of India's most controversial periods.
Kangana's comments have sparked discussions about the nature of celebrity culture in Bollywood. Her candid remarks offer a glimpse into her perspective on an industry she finds lacking in depth and substance.
