In a post on X, Chiranjeevi said, "Deeply shocked and heartbroken beyond words.
Just the day before yesterday, we were together in Goa at Kush's wedding, laughing, sharing jokes, and taking pictures. Bhagyaraj garu was full of life and joy. To wake up to the news of his passing this morning is simply unbelievable."
Chiranjeevi described K Bhagyarah as a brilliant filmmaker, exceptional screenplay writer, and fine actor, whose contribution to Indian cinema will always be remembered.
He continued, "My heartfelt condolences to Poornima ji, Shanthanu and the entire family. May God give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will be deeply missed."
Venkatesh, who had also met K Bhagyaraj, expressed his condolence in a post on X. He wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Bhagyaraj Sir. His work transcended languages and touched the hearts of millions."
It has to be noted that Venkatesh's Sundarakanda and Abbaigaru had the stories written by K Bhagyraj.
He added, "I feel fortunate to have been a part of films like Sundarakanda and Abbaigaru, which were born from his remarkable storytelling. Indian cinema has lost one of its finest filmmakers. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and countless admirers."
The 73-year-old veteran died after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday. He had complained of severe chest pain before he was rushed to a private hospital.
His passing comes just 17 days after the death of his mentor and fellow Tamil cinema icon, K Bharathirajaa.
Considered one of the finest screenplay writers and true legends of Tamil cinema, Bhagyaraj is survived by his wife Poornima, his son Shanthnu, and his daughter Saranya.
