Junior Set For OTT Release – But When Exactly? Amazon Prime To Announce Date Soon

Kireeti Reddy's debut film, directed by Radhakrishna Reddy, didn't exactly set the cash registers ringing, even though the young actor's performance got some praise. The film was a Telugu-Kannada bilingual, but while the Telugu version did okay, the Kannada version barely made a ripple-ironic, considering Kireeti kept insisting it was primarily a Kannada film shot in Telugu.

When Will Junior Be Released Online?

Released on July 18, the film had to battle it out with biggies like Ekka, Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Raj B Shetty's Su From So. Despite the tough competition, it managed to hold its own-sort of.

With a budget of around ₹25 crore, Junior wrapped up its theatrical run in less than two weeks, collecting a modest ₹7.65 crore net. Naturally, talks about its OTT release started doing the rounds almost immediately. Word was that Amazon Prime Video would drop it 30 days after its theatrical release-August 14, 2025, to be exact. But now, it looks like that might not happen. No official announcement from Amazon yet, and industry insiders say we might have to wait a little longer.

The film was supposed to be Kireeti's big launchpad, and in many ways, it did showcase his potential-especially in dance and emotional scenes. Critics called him a promising newcomer, even if the film itself didn't quite hit the mark.

The story revolved around Kireeti's character, Abhi, whose overprotective dad (played by the legendary V Ravichandran) drives him up the wall. Things take a turn when Abhi discovers a surprising connection between his dad and the CEO of the company he's interning at.

Devi Sri Prasad's music was a highlight, with "Viral Vayyari" becoming a viral hit-partly because Kireeti and Sreeleela's dance moves. The supporting cast, including Genelia Deshmukh, Rao Ramesh, and Achyuth Kumar, added some weight to the film.

Now, all eyes are on when Junior will finally land on OTT. Will it be this week? Next month? Only time (and Amazon Prime) will tell. Until then, fans of Kireeti and Sreeleela will just have to keep hitting replay on "Viral Vayyari" and wait it out.
