Juhi Chawla's Reason For Skipping KKR Meetings At SRK's Mannat

Juhi Chawla shared insights into her absence from early Kolkata Knight Riders meetings at Shah Rukh Khan's house, highlighting late-night schedules and the choice of inauspicious uniform colors as key factors. She also touched upon her initial meeting with Shah Rukh and his upcoming film 'King'.

Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan, close friends and co-stars in numerous films, also co-own the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team. The team recently won this year's IPL trophy, which both actors celebrated on their social media accounts.

Interestingly, during the early stages of forming the team, all meetings took place at Shah Rukh Khan's house, Mannat. However, Juhi Chawla did not attend these gatherings.

Juhi Chawla Explains Absence From KKR Meetings At Shah Rukh s Place

In a recent conversation at an event by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, she revealed why.

Why Juhi Chawla didn't attend KKR meetings

Juhi explained that Lalit Modi approached her and Shah Rukh to buy a team because he wanted glamorous people as team owners in the IPL. "We didn't know anything about running a cricket franchise. So I remember going to Shah Rukh's house for meetings, where (from) putting the jingle together, to thinking of what uniform they'll have, everything was done in house," she said. She also recalled disliking the first uniform of the players due to its black and gold colours. "Black is considered inauspicious," she added.

The actress further revealed that all team-related meetings were held at night at Mannat because Shah Rukh was busy during the day. "Our meetings would be scheduled for 10 pm. They would start by 11 pm...by the time the meeting would start, it would be 12-12:30 pm and I would start dozing off in the meeting. After 2-3 meetings, I stopped attending. I said you guys do this, I am not coming," Juhi was quoted saying.

Juhi Chawla on her first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan

Juhi recently shared that she felt cheated when she first met Shah Rukh Khan during their film 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman'. She had expected a chocolate-faced hero like Aamir Khan but was disappointed when she saw him on set.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen in King, produced by Siddharth Anand and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is also likely to star SRK's daughter Suhana Khan and will feature Shah Rukh playing a Don with shades of grey, similar to his original Don role.
