Jayam Ravi Seeks Solace In Spirituality Days After Attacking Estranged Wife Aarti

Tamil actor Jayam Ravia aka Ravi Mohan has taken the sacred Ayyappa Mala and begun his spiritual observance ahead of the annual pilgrimage to Sabarimala Temple, just days after making explosive statements about his troubled personal life and ongoing divorce battle with estranged wife Aarti Ravi.

The actor, who recently announced that he would step away from acting until his divorce proceedings are settled, has now turned towards spirituality amid mounting emotional turmoil and public scrutiny. Wearing the traditional garland marks the beginning of the Mandala Vratham, usually a strict 41-day period of discipline, devotion and abstinence observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa before undertaking the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

The ritual requires followers to adopt an austere lifestyle, maintain spiritual purity and practise self-restraint. Ravi's decision to begin the vow has drawn widespread attention, particularly because it comes at a time when his personal life has become the centre of intense media discussion and social media speculation.

Last year, Jayam Ravi had visited Sabarimala with his close friend and actor Karthi.

The controversy surrounding the actor escalated last week after singer and therapist Kenisha hinted that she was distancing herself from him, citing relentless cyberbullying and online attacks. Her statements were widely interpreted as confirmation of a breakup, adding another dramatic chapter to the actor's already turbulent personal life.

A day later, Ravi broke his silence during an emotionally charged press interaction in Chennai, where he made several startling allegations against Aarti and her family. Visibly distressed, the actor declared that he was no longer in a state of mind to continue acting.

"I cannot tolerate this humiliation anymore," he said, adding that none of his films would release and that he would not return to cinema until his personal life stabilises.

The actor also claimed that his silence over the past two years had been misunderstood and exploited by others. According to Ravi, he chose not to publicly discuss his marital problems for a long time, but that silence ultimately worked against him.

He further expressed anguish over being portrayed negatively in public discourse, especially regarding allegations that questioned his attitude towards women. Ravi insisted that he was raised to respect women and pointed out that his films have consistently featured strong female characters.
