I Paid Jayam Ravi In Crores But He Blames Me For Debt: Aarti's Mother Sujatha Slams Tamil Actor

Film producer Sujatha Vijayakumar has broken her silence following explosive claims made by her son-in-law, actor Jayam Ravi (Ravi Mohan), alleging that her "privileged family" drained him financially and emotionally. Her statement adds a new twist to the ongoing public fallout surrounding Ravi's separation from his wife Aarthi.

Sujatha Vijayakumar's Claims

Sujatha has described how she entered film production in 2007 with Veerappu and how Ravi himself encouraged her return to film production in 2017. She went on to produce Adanga Maru, Bhoomi, and Siren, all starring Ravi, borrowing over ₹100 crore to fund them.

She asserted that Ravi was paid 25% of the production budget as his salary and that she holds documented proof of payments and tax filings. Sujatha denied Ravi's allegations of being saddled with debt due to her productions, stating that she alone bears the financial burden and continues to pay off interest on the loans.

She added that despite Ravi giving her a written promise to act in another film to help recover losses from Siren, he never followed through with any commitment to repay the loans or share the financial responsibility.

Sujatha said she chose to remain quiet for the sake of her family, but the continued "false accusations" forced her to speak out now to set the record straight.

Ravi Mohan married Aarthi, daughter of veteran producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, in 2009. The couple have two sons, Aarav and Ayan. In 2024, Ravi announced his decision to divorce Aarthi- a declaration Aarthi claimed was made without her consent. Controversy deepened when photos of Ravi with his friend Kenisha went viral, sparking rumors of a new relationship, which both parties denied.

Last weekend, Ravi was seen attending a wedding with Kenisha. Soon after, Aarthi released a statement alleging that Ravi had sent her and their children a notice to vacate their residence. She clarified that she was still legally his wife and should not be addressed as his ex.

In response, Ravi accused Aarthi's family of years of physical, emotional, and financial abuse. He also said he had been kept from seeing his children and credited Kenisha as a source of light in his life.

RJ Suchi Backs Ravi, Kenishaa

Meanwhile, RJ Suchitra, known for her controversial takes on Kollywood celebrities, has extended support to Jayam Ravi and his girlfriend Kenishaa.

Defending the couple, she said, "What mistake did they make? Has Ravi done something no one in the world of cinema has made? Everyone is doing it secretly. This is an obvious mistake. Maybe it started right now. How much recognition is given to that girl? Women, don't you all want men to be treated like her?

A woman is crying for a marriage which has not worked for so many years. People don't know who she is and are taking her side. Who is Ravi's ex-wife? What work of hers have you all seen, except for Instagram photographs? Jayam Ravi's work is discredited. Kenishaa's work is discredited... isn't it ugly? You all are blind and behave like a dark ages mob."
