Javed Akhtar's X Account Hacked, 'Harmless' Olympics Post Sent
Renowned lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar has announced that his X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked, leading to a 'totally harmless' message about the Indian contingent for the Paris Olympics 2024 being sent from his profile.
The 79-year-old Akhtar, known for his active engagement on the microblogging site, shared the news on his page on Sunday night. He wrote, "My X ID is hacked. There is a message seemingly from my account about our Indian team for the Olympics. It is totally harmless but was not sent by me."

The tweet about the Indian team mentioned by Akhtar is no longer visible on his timeline. Akhtar's post garnered a range of reactions online. While many fans urged him to 'change his password' immediately, others began trolling him.
One user, Kuldeep Yadav, questioned, "That's what I'm thinking, who is running your handle after all?" Another inquired about the content of the harmless message.
Akhtar, a prominent figure in Bollywood, frequently uses his X account to share his views on various issues and connect with his audience. He has not disclosed when he discovered the security breach or provided details about the message sent from his account. Akhtar has informed his 4.6 million followers that a complaint is being lodged with the social media platform's authorities.
