Is Manisha Koirala Open For Marriage Again? Here Is What 'Dil Se' Actress Says

Actress Manisha Koirala, who has made a comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi', has said that she is not open to marriage anymore.

In an interview with Zoom, she said, "I am not open to marriage anymore. But maybe great friendship and companionship is fine."

Manisha Koirala exchanged vows with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19, 2010, in a traditional Nepalese ceremony held in Kathmandu. They came across through the online social networking platform Facebook. However, their marriage ended in divorce two years later, in 2012.

Manisha stated, "Bas ho gaya. Once bitten, twice shy."

The trouble in her paradise came as a shock to many when she wrote a note on her Facebook account which read: "My husband has become my enemy. How much worse can it become for a woman."

After the biggest shock of her life was when she realised that she was diagnosed with cancer. In an interview with NDTV, the Bollywood actress revealed that she fought the battle lonely.
She said, "It's been a journey. It has also been a learning experience. I really believed that I had multiple friends. I thought partying together, travelling together, having fun together, people will sit with me in my pain. That was not so. People are not capable of sitting with anybody's pain, let alone their own pain. We always try to find excuses to not feel pain. We want to escape pain. That's human nature. I found myself very lonely, and I realised that only my immediate family was around me."

However, it was her family who stood by her during the difficult days. Manisha added, "I also have a huge Koirala khandaan. Nobody was there. I have a big family, and everybody is affluent, they can all afford it. But it was my parents, it was my brother, it was my brother's wife. And that is it. And I realised that when everybody leaves me, these are the people who will be with me. My priority is my immediate family, no matter what. They come first in my life, everybody else later."

In the recently-released 'Heeramandi', she has enacted the role of Mallikajaan, the chief courtesan of Shahi Mahal.
