In a dramatic turn of events, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has ordered the immediate closure of the Bigg Boss Kannada studio located at Jolly Wood Studios & Adventures in Bidadi.

The shutdown, executed on Tuesday night under the supervision of Ramanagara Tahsildar Tejaswini, was prompted by serious violations of environmental laws. Authorities cited the studio's failure to obtain mandatory permissions under the Water and Air Acts.

Studio Sealed, Staff Sent Home

The Bigg Boss house-an opulent set built at a cost of over ₹5 crore and styled like a palace to match host Kichcha Sudeep's vision-has now been locked down. Over 700 crew members, who had been working in three shifts for six months, have been sent home following the suspension of operations.

Government's Stand

State Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre said that despite prior notices issued in March 2024, the studio continued operations illegally. "No one is above the law," he stated, emphasizing that legal action will proceed as per environmental regulations.

Will Bigg Boss Kannada Air Today?

Yes, Bigg Boss Kannada will be aired today on Colours Kannada and be streamed on Jio+Hotstar. Although the studio has been sealed and contestants relocated to Eagleton Resorts, the channel has enough content due to the 24-hour delay between filming and broadcast. So episodes shot on Monday and Tuesday will be aired tonight.

Organizers reportedly have enough content to sustain uninterrupted broadcasts for the next few days.

Channel's Statement

Colors Kannada addressed the disruption via their official X account: "Due to unforeseen reasons, there was a disruption in the airing time of today's episode of 'Bigg Boss' on Jio Hotstar. We apologize for this inconvenience. Today's episode is now available for viewing on JioHotstar."

Where Are Contestants Now?

Following the studio's closure, all contestants have been moved to Eagleton Resorts, where they will remain until further notice. This relocation ensures their safety and allows producers to manage the situation while legal proceedings unfold.

Will it be suspended?

Colours Kannada has not opened up on its next move. However, sources say that the makers of the show are expected to approach the Karnataka High Court challenging the shutdown order.

The court should first agree to hear the plea immediately and only then Bigg Boss creators can expect some favourable developments. As of now, the 12th season has not been suspended,
