Concern sparked among fans after news spread that veteran Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan had recently been admitted to a Mumbai hospital. However, according to reports, there is no cause for alarm. The actor was reportedly hospitalised only for a routine medical evaluation and has since returned home in stable condition.

The Real Truth About Amitabh Bachchan's Health Concern

According to reports, the 83-year-old actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle on Saturday, May 16. He was reportedly kept under observation in the VIP section of the hospital's A Wing. While neither Big B nor the Bachchan family has officially commented on the matter, sources close to the development have claimed that the actor is doing well.

Reports further stated that the actor's medical examination was conducted under the supervision of Dr Jayant Barve, his long-time physician and noted gastroenterologist. Actor Abhishek Bachchan was also reportedly seen visiting the hospital during his father's stay. As per media reports, Amitabh Bachchan was discharged soon after completing the required tests.

Past Health Issues

The actor has reportedly been dealing with abdominal health complications for many years following the life-threatening accident he suffered in 1982 while shooting for the film Coolie alongside Puneet Issar. During the filming of an action sequence, Bachchan suffered a severe intestinal injury that required extensive medical treatment. Since then, he has undergone multiple surgeries over the years due to related complications.

Despite reports regarding his health concerns, Amitabh Bachchan continued interacting with fans through his personal blog and social media platforms. On Tuesday night, amid ongoing reports about his hospitalisation and discharge, the legendary actor shared a thoughtful poem on his blog. The post featured reflections involving eagles and parrots and concluded with the heartfelt words, "Love, Prayers and more," reassuring admirers about his well-being.

Speaking about the iconic actor's upcoming projects, Big B has a packed schedule ahead. He is expected to reprise his role in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin.

In addition, Bachchan will also be seen in filmmaker Ribhu Dasgupta's courtroom drama Section 84 alongside Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Banerjee. The film has reportedly wrapped shooting and is currently awaiting its release announcement.
