Inside Darshan's VIP Cell: Ex-Prisoner Reveals Details Of Meeting Actor In Parappana Agrahara Jail

A recently released prisoner has shared details about his meeting with Kannada actor Darshan inside the Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru.

Siddaruda, who spent 22 years in prison for a murder case, recounted his encounter with Darshan during an interview with a YouTube channel. Siddaruda was granted a meeting with the Kannada superstar, who is a prime accused in the murder case of Renuka Swamy.

From Meeting To Meditation

"During my visit to Darshan's cell, he greeted me warmly and showed great respect. He listened to my story and encouraged me to share it, saying, 'Forget your story, tell your own.' I noticed he wasn't as he appears on TV-he seemed worn out and had lost weight. I suggested he try meditation, which he appreciated. We meditated together for ten minutes," Siddaruda said.

Facilities In VIP Cell

He described Darshan's VIP cell as a single cell with basic amenities: a bed, two chairs, and a 20-liter water can. Despite being labeled a VIP cell, it offers no special privileges. The isolation is palpable compared to common cells where inmates can interact. Darshan's cell includes a small space for walking but lacks facilities for exercise.

Distance Between Darshan's Cell-Prajwal Revanna's Cell

Siddaruda also mentioned that Darshan's cell is located about 1 km away from Prajwal Revanna's cell, making any meeting between them impossible. "Prajwal Revanna is also in Parappana Agrahara, but their cells are far apart. Darshan, an accused in the murder case, is still waiting for a charge sheet. Even with a strong charge sheet, he is likely to be granted bail eventually. Typically, such cases take 3-4 years to reach a verdict. If found guilty, Darshan could face life imprisonment," Siddaruda speculated.

He noted that Darshan appeared eager to talk when Siddaruda left. "Being isolated in his cell, he likely felt the need for conversation," Siddaruda observed. "While prisoners usually have the chance to see and receive calls from outsiders once a week, Darshan, being in a VIP cell, is not allowed such calls. Visitors are permitted to see him only outside his cell, and other prisoners observe him during these times. No additional visitors are allowed," Siddaruda concluded.

Darshan is one of the 17 accused in the murder case of Renuka Swamy, who was abducted and killed by Darshan's aides on June 9 for allegedly sending lewd messages to the actor's friend, Pavithra Gowda.
