'Indian 2' Advance Booking: Tickets In Demand In Chennai, Decent Response In Bengaluru

The advance booking for 'Indian 2' kicked off in Chennai last evening, ahead of its worldwide release on July 12. The movie will be screened in over 650 theatres across Tamil Nadu, receiving a strong response from Kamal Haasan fans.

In Bengaluru, advance bookings have also begun, with 179 shows listed for the first day. So far, the advance booking has met with a decent response while in Chennai there is a demand for tickets.

The advance booking for tickets in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will commence on Tuesday evening. Also, it is yet to commence in Kochi, Mumbai and other cities in multiplexes. As per the sources, national multiplex chains are yet to open their bookings.

In the US, ticket sales began two weeks before the release date and have been met with a good response. For its premiere shows, the film has sold over 10,000 tickets, grossing nearly USD 237,000 (Rs 1.97 crore) as per Track BO. The film's ticket sales have shown steady growth, up from 5,600 tickets sold just five days ago.

'Indian 2' is releasing at a time when Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' is dominating the box office. The multilingual sci-fi film surged to Rs 900 crore worldwide on its 12th day and is now advancing towards the coveted Rs 1,000-crore mark globally. However, on July 8, it experienced a significant decline in earnings at the domestic box office.

The 12-day total collection of 'Kalki 2898 AD' stands at Rs 521.4 crore nett in India. The Telugu version has garnered Rs 249.05 crore nett, while the Hindi version has achieved an impressive Rs 218.9 crore nett.

'Indian 2" marks the return of the vigilante hero Senapathy, played by the legendary Kamal Haasan. Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, Vivekh, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar are part of the ensemble cast.

Directed by Shankar, Lyca Productions, which funded big movies such as '2.0' and 'Kaththi', is producing the movie.
