'Indian 2' 1st Day Box Office Collection (Tamil Nadu): How Much Kamal's Film Earned On Opening Day
Despite getting mixed reviews, Kamal Haasan's much-hyped 'Indian 2' has got a below-par opening at the Tamil Nadu box office. Although this movie had better hype than the actor's previous film 'Vikram', Shankar's latest creation failed to pull the viewers in big numbers.
Even in its home territory Tamil Nadu, there were no special morning shows like the way usual big movies of A-list actors will have. In the end, the overall viewership for the movie was over just 50 per cent across the state, as per Sacnik.

Trichy registered the highest occupancy in theatres at 81.00%, Chennai had 68.50%, Madurai had 47.50%, Coimbatore had 68.25%, Salem had 55.75%, Vellore had 48.75%, and Dindigul had 56.50%. Outside Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru had 42.50%, Kochi had 39.50%, Trivandrum had 33.75%, Mumbai had 36.50% and the National Capital Region (NCR) had 32.75%.
Pondicherry recorded the highest occupancy in theatres at 87.25%.
The early estimates indicate that the movie had earned over Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office. In Tamil Nadu alone, the movie had earned over Rs 20 crore with a net collection of 17 crore. Whereas the Telugu version made around Rs 10 crore with a net collection of Rs 7.9 crore.
Kamal Haasan's previous movie 'Vikram' had earned Rs 28 crore on the opening day.

Meanwhile, the much-hyped film has opened to mixed reviews.
The movie, which is a sequel to 'Indian', has Kamal Haasan returning as Senapathy. The film has Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha and others in the cast.
