Dhanush's Idli Kadai is finding a new audience as the Tamil film has made it to the OTT platform.

The film, which marks Dhanush's return to direction after a gap, garnered appreciation for its emotional depth and performances but couldn't quite translate that into box office success.

The movie was released in Tamil and Telugu languages and managed to gross ₹50.33 crore in India - modest compared to expectations for a Dhanush-starrer.

Now, the heartfelt father-son drama is ready for its second innings as it heads to Netflix. The platform has secured the exclusive streaming rights and plans to release the film in multiple South Indian languages, broadening its reach beyond the Tamil and Telugu-speaking audience.

Where is it released? Well, it is neither released on Amazon Prime or Sun NXT, but on Netflix.

For Telugu audiences, the film will stream as Idly Kottu, and apart from Tamil and Telugu, the OTT version will also be available in Kannada and Malayalam.

Well, Amazon Prime subscribers can enjoy Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah which will be out on October 31.

Reuniting Thiruchitrambalam duo Dhanush and Nithya Menen, Idli Kadai also stars Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, R. Parthiban, Shalini Pandey, Samuthirakani, Geetha Kailasam, and Illavarasu in pivotal roles. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while Kiran Koushik handled the cinematography and Prasanna GK took charge of editing.

The story revolves around Shiva Kesavudu (Rajkiran), a humble idli vendor whose son Murali (Dhanush) dreams of breaking away from his modest roots. Murali's journey takes him from the narrow lanes of Shankarapuram to the bustling streets of Bangkok, where he becomes part of a food empire helmed by business magnate Vishnu Vardhan (Sathyaraj). But fate soon forces him to confront his past - and the true value of his father's legacy.
