'Hi Nanna' Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out From Viewers' Response

Nani and Mrunal Thakur's 'Hi Nanna' has hit the screens on Thursday to a decent hype. The movie is written and directed by Shouryuv.

The Telugu movie has Baby Kiara Khanna, Nassar, Jayaram, Priyadarshini, and a few others in the supporting roles. Actress Shruti Haasan has done a cameo.

Hesham Abdul Wahab has scored the music for 'Hi Nanna'. The movie has Sanu Varghese's cinematography and Praveen Anthony's editing.

'Hi Nanna' Story:

It is a romantic family drama revolving around a doting father and his six-year-olds daughter. Viraj (Nani) is a professional photographer and a single parent, responsible for raising his 6-year-old daughter, Mahii (Baby Kaira Khanna). Despite Mahii's persistent inquiries about her mother, Viraj remains tight-lipped on the matter. Eventually, Viraj agrees to discuss his wife only if Mahii achieves the top rank in her endeavours.

Although Mahii accomplishes this, Viraj fails to keep his promise. Frustrated by this, the young girl decides to leave home. Yashna (Mrunal Thakur) intervenes, saving Mahii from a potential accident. The film revolves around how Yashna transforms the lives of Viraj and Mahii.

Venky Reviews: #HiNanna A Clean and Emotional Movie with a passable first half and good second half!

Despite a slower narration style in the earlier parts of the movie and a typical flashback love story, the film mostly engages driven by superb BGM and performances. The last 30 minutes is the life of the movie and has worked well. Good watch!

@NameisNani and the little kid have both performed well. @mrunal0801 plays her character superbly.

@shouryuv has given a commendable debut and definitely a talent to watch out for.

Nani & Mrunal Thakur both hv given beautiful perf. That Kid is lovely. Jayaram wasted. Superb BGM, Songs, Visuals & Art Work. Main Problem is with d flat story. Cliched scenes fails to deliver d right emotions. A Soulless Drama. DISAPPOINTING!

@NameisNani, and didn't move me as much. But as his character gets older and mature so does his acting, peaking as the single dad of a young girl. The subtlety of his performance will be overlooked, but I was very very pleased #HiNanna
