Hari Hara Veera Mallu Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Pawan Kalyan-Starrer?

The long-delayed and much-anticipated Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, starring Pawan Kalyan, finally roars-or rather, stumbles-onto the big screen. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and backed by a strong ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, and Sathyaraj, the film sets out to be an epic period action drama but ends up lost in its own ambition.

A Grand Premise That Promised More

Set in the oppressive era of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, the story revolves around Veera Mallu (Pawan Kalyan), a rebel who dares to challenge tyranny by plotting to steal the iconic Koh-i-Noor diamond from the emperor's Peacock Throne. It's a setup ripe with possibilities-a heist layered within a freedom struggle, woven into the fabric of history and legend. Yet, the film squanders this potential with a screenplay that feels at once outdated and disjointed.

The first half offers brief glimpses of what the film could have been. Veera Mallu's introduction is staged with flair, and a well-choreographed kusthi fight injects some much-needed adrenaline. MM Keeravani's rousing background score provides a pulse in an otherwise uneven narrative.
