'Guntur Kaaram' Targeted With Negative Ratings On BMS To Reduce Collection? Makers' Complain
The makers of the recently-released Telugu film 'Guntur Kaaram' have lodged a complaint with cyber police in Hyderabad over alleged fake ratings given to the film on BookMyShow.
As per the 'Guntur Kaaram' team, a well-coordinated negative rating was carried out on the portal. They claim that tens of thousands of votes, all with ratings of 0 or 1, were systematically given to the movie in an attempt to bring down the collection of the movie.

Over 70,000 fake bot votes were used against the movie on BookMyShow.
The Telugu movie was released on January 12 to mixed reviews. However, 'Guntur Kaaram' found itself targeted in what seems to be a deliberate attempt to damage its reputation. The purported orchestration of fake votes is suspected to be a component of a broader strategy by an unidentified anti-group.
The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce will soon send legal notices to the portal, demanding it for an investigation into the fake voting campaign. The makers will meet the city cyber police later in the day.
In the first three days, the Telugu movie, which has Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in the leads, has estimated to have collected around Rs 81.15 crore. In Andhra and Telangana, it has raked in Rs 71.25 crore.
However, the worldwide collection of the movie stands at Rs 107.15 crore.
