'GTA VI' Release Date Confirmed Sometime Fall 2025; What Platforms You Can Play It On Release

Take-Two Interactive, the company that owns Rockstar Games, just recently posted the results for the fourth quarter of their fiscal year 2024.

Since the results went beyond their expectation, they have decided to confirm the timeframe for the release of 'GTA VI' to be sometime around Fall 2025.

In the press release of their results for fiscal year 2024, they wrote, ""As we enter Fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver Net Bookings of $5.55 to $5.65 billion. Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games' previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI. We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase."

The game is set to release on the consoles, PlayStation 5 as well as the Xbox Series X|S. There is no date given by Take-Two Interactive or Rockstar Games for the PC port. This has been a consistent trend with most Rockstar Games, however, where games are first made and published on consoles. Then, after one to two years, a PC port is released.

Former Rockstar North developer and animator, Mike York, made a video on his YouTube channel 'York Reacts' during the first announcement of 'GTA VI' back in December 2023, where he talked about why PC ports take longer.

He explained that the reason PC ports take so long is because Rockstar and Take-Two prioritise numbers. Consoles, at least in the past, were very popular. This made game studios prioritise making the game feel good on those platforms first.

Consoles are also easier to test, as hardware on consoles is always the same. PCs, on the other hand, can be made up of a variety of different hardware, depending on who made it or where the customer bought it from.
