Gangers OTT Release: When Will Vadivelu's Tamil Film Be Released Online? Likely Date Is Here

Sundar C and Vadivelu-starrer has completed its 10-day run in theatres on Sunday. The movie has done decent business despite getting mixed response.

OTT Release Update

Following its theatrical run, all attention now turns to Gangers' digital release. Reports suggest that Amazon Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights. Although the price remains undisclosed, the movie is expected to premiere on the platform on May 23 or 30. The overseas OTT rights have been acquired by Tentkotta.

Interestingly, Sundar C's previous film Aranmanai 4 was picked up by Disney+ Hotstar for its OTT release.

Plot Overview

The story begins with the mysterious disappearance of a schoolgirl, triggering a deeper investigation led by an undercover cop portrayed by Sundar C. Catherine Tresa plays a key supporting role, while Vadivelu adds humor with his quirky portrayal of a hopeless romantic.

Set in a small-town backdrop, Gangers is a typical Sundar C-style heist caper, packed with a variety of comic characters. The fast-paced narrative, action-packed sequences, and an entertaining second half lead into a pre-climax that's both thrilling and hilarious.

While the film may not boast top-tier technical finesse or a star-studded crew beyond the leads, Sundar C manages to deliver an engaging ride. His signature blend of action and comedy continues to resonate with fans of his brand of cinema.

Directed by and starring Sundar C, Gangers hit the screens on Thursday. He shares the spotlight with veteran comedian Vadivelu. The film also features an ensemble cast that includes Catherine Tresa, Vani Bhojan, Bagavathi Perumal, Hareesh Peradi, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Deepa Shankar, Ilavarasu, John Vijay, and Mime Gopi.

Behind the scenes, E. Krishnasamy handled cinematography, Praveen Antony was in charge of editing, and C. Sathya composed the music.

However, it has to be seen how the movie will perform in the days in theatres as Suriya's Retro is released over the weekend.
