Sundar C is back with his latest movie Gangers which has seen the light of the day on Thursday. He himself has played the lead along with Vadivelu.

Catherine Tresa, Vani Bhojan, Bagavathi Perumal, Hareesh Peradi, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Deepa Shankar, Ilavarasu, John Vijay, Mime Gopi and others are in the cast. The movie has E. Krishnasamy's cinematography, Praveen Antony's editing and C. Sathya's music.

The story kicks off with a schoolgirl's disappearance-part of a larger mystery-prompting an undercover cop (Sundar C) to investigate. Catherine Tresa's character aids the mission, while Vadivelu provides the comic relief as a lovelorn rival. The first half drowns in tired commercial clichés: forced comedy, predictable twists, and a villain reveal that surprises no one.

However, the film finds its footing post-intermission when the actual heist plot kicks in. The last 30 minutes are a riot-fast-paced, packed with Vadivelu's hilarious antics, and culminating in a chaotic yet entertaining climax. Sundar C wisely doesn't take the plot too seriously, letting the absurdity work in its favor.

Vadivelu Steals the Show

After a long hiatus from impactful roles, Vadivelu makes a solid comeback, delivering laugh-out-loud moments, especially in the heist sequence. His chemistry with Sundar C, though recycled from their older hits, still sparks nostalgia.

Verdict: A Mixed Bag That Delivers Where It Counts

Gangers is textbook Sundar C-unapologetically massy, packed with commercial elements, and uneven in pacing. While the first half tests patience, the second half compensates with relentless fun. If you're a fan of Sundar C's Aranmanai series or enjoy Vadivelu's vintage comedy, this one's a decent watch.

Siddharth Srinivas: #Gangers (3.25/5) - A crazy and rollicking fun ride. The first half is decent but the second half is the real deal - the entire money heist episode and #Vadivelu (finally a good comedy comeback) bring the roof down. The best part is in how the film doesn't take itself too seriously, and keeps the ball rolling.

Sundar C proves that he is in good form, though the film is technically functional and doesn't have great names on board but for the lead duo, he is able to steer the ship successfully until the end. Audiences who like his comedy entertainers will lap this up!

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #Gangers - Another clean entertainer from Sundar C. No double meaning dialogues or needless sleaze to titillate viewers. After a long time, Vadivelu is used quite effectively in a role that's pretty much there throughout the film. Best part about the film is that it wears its silliness like a medal of honour.
