December has undeniably been a distressing period for Kollywood, as it has witnessed the departure of several legendary actors to their heavenly abode. Many legendary actors namely Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran (MGR), J Jayalalitha, and now Vijayakanth passed away in December.

MGR Died On December 24, 1987

Later in her life, Jayalalithaa transitioned into politics and became a significant figure in Tamil Nadu's political landscape. She was associated with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party and served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu multiple times, holding office for several terms.
