Forget Pushing, Balakrishna Once Pinched Anjali On Stage, Video Now Goes Viral

Netizens have come down heavily on Balakrishna after videos of him pushing his actress Anjali on stage went viral.

The incident occurred at the 'Gangs Of Godavari' pre-release event. Amid criticism for his action, Anjali has shared the clip stating that they are both "mutual friends".

In a post shared on X, she wrote, "I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other, and we share a great friendship from a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again."

As this issue became a talk of the town, an old video of Balakrishna pinching Anjali at pressmeet has now gone viral.

At the press meet of Telugu movie 'Dictator', Balakrishna was seen pinching her. This incident had raised eyebrows back then.

Meanwhile, singer Chinmayi responded to the comments about Anjali laughing on stage as Balakrishna pushed her.

"It is NOT possible to respond according to your spectator response as you watch this on your device. This most moral policing, holier than thou - pure as driven snow - Harishchandra /Sri Ramachandramoorthy or their relative incarnates will fail to understand."

In the viral video, Balakrishna, when he reached the centre of the stage, he asked the film's actors, Neha Shetty (dressed in a grey ethnic outfit) and Anjali (in a saree), to step aside. Moments later, he pushed Anjali, nearly causing her to tumble. Anjali, along with Neha and others on stage, laughed it off.

Chinmayi added that the society itself refuses to hold men in power who misbehave responsible especially "when they come from money, caste and political power."

Nonetheless, actor-politician Balakrishna, who is known for such controversies, has not given a clarification on the issue.
