Fatima Sana Shaikh Dismisses Dating Rumours With Vijay Varma Ahead Of Movie Release: 'Good Guys Only Exist In

Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh is gearing up for the release of two romantic dramas this July. She features as part of the ensemble cast in Anurag Basu's 'Metro In Dino', a spiritual successor to his 2007 hit 'Life in a... Metro'.

Following that, she will appear opposite R Madhavan in Netflix's 'Aap Jaisa Koi'.

Despite her packed professional calendar, Fatima has also been in the limelight due to speculation surrounding her personal life. Reports have suggested she is dating actor Vijay Varma, though Fatima has subtly addressed and dismissed the rumours.

Fatima Sana Shaikh on Romance

On Wednesday, Fatima attended the trailer launch of 'Aap Jaisa Koi' in Mumbai, accompanied by her co-star R Madhavan.

The film, directed by 'Meenakshi Sundareshwar''s Vivek Soni, delves into the theme of equality in romantic relationships.

Reflecting on her perspective on love, Fatima remarked, "The idea of equality of love is where two people respect each other, and they will listen to each other and won't deny it. I think that is an equal relationship now, and compromises need to be made by both. When you come into a partnership, you work towards the relationship without losing yourself. I think that is the way to have a successful relationship."

'Good guys only exist in films'

Journalists present at the event then attempted to question her about her relationship status, asking whether she had found such a person in her own life. The actor replied, "No one is there. No good guys. They exist only in films."

Although she didn't mention anyone by name, Fatima's clear declaration that she is single was interpreted by many as a response to the recent rumours linking her to Vijay Varma.

Speaking about working with Madhavan, Fatima shared that she was keen not to miss the chance to act alongside the 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' star.

"I liked the story of the film, it's an honest story. I've never played a layered character like this in a love story. Who wouldn't want to work with Madhavan? I was so excited about working with Madhavan," she said.

Fatima's Upcoming Projects

'Aap Jaisa Koi', produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment-the digital division of Dharma Productions-is due for release on Netflix on 11 July. 'Metro In Dino', her preceding release, is scheduled to open in cinemas a week earlier, on 4 July.

Fatima has also recently concluded filming for an untitled project by designer-turned-director Manish Malhotra, in which she stars alongside Vijay Varma and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah.
