Fan Speaks Out After Nana Patekar's Apology For Slapping Incident
Nana Patekar, a respected figure in the Indian film industry, recently found himself at the center of an unfortunate incident. A video surfaced online showing Patekar slapping a fan who was attempting to take a selfie with him. This incident happened during the shooting of a movie titled "Journey" in Varanasi. Following the video's circulation, Patekar issued an apology, sparking a response from the fan involved.
The fan, responding to the situation, explained, "I was going for a bath when I noticed a film shoot underway. After waiting for a while, I approached (Nana) for a photo, but instead of granting the request, he struck me and told me to leave."

Contrary to reports suggesting his involvement in the film, the fan denied any association. When queried about taking legal action against Nana, the fan stated he hadn't pursued any such measures.
In response to the viral video, Nana Patekar offered an apology via a video statement. He clarified that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding, assuming the fan was an actor in the movie. "A video depicting me hitting a boy is circulating. Although this sequence is part of our film, we had a rehearsal scheduled. As we were about to start, the boy from the video entered. Assuming he was part of our crew, I enacted the scene by slapping him and asked him to leave," he explained.
Expressing regret, Patekar asserted, "I have never turned down anyone for a picture. The location was crowded, and the scene was being filmed in a bustling market. It was an inadvertent mistake, I didn't know where he came from."
"Journey," directed by Anil Sharma and featuring Utkarsh Sharma, remains in the spotlight amidst these developments.
