The film witnessed solid footfalls throughout the day, with occupancy rates fluctuating across different showtimes. The movie had a 63.32% occupancy rate for morning shows. It dropped to 54.32% for afternoon shows. It improved to 60.43% for evening shows. The night shows enjoyed 66.00%, as per Sacnilk data.

City-wise Performance

Kochi led the way with an exceptional overall occupancy of 97.5%, with near-full houses in almost all showtimes. Trivandrum followed with a strong 84.75%, witnessing slightly lower attendance in the afternoon but bouncing back in the night shows.

Other key cities in Kerala also delivered impressive numbers. Kozhikode recorded a remarkable 92.25% occupancy, while Thrissur stood close behind at 91.75%, indicating strong local support. Kollam, too, performed exceptionally well with an occupancy of 93.25%, highlighting the massive demand for the film in the region. Kottayam and Alappuzha posted solid figures of 88.75% and 83.50%, respectively, proving the film's dominance across the state, the data said.

Outside Kerala, the response was mixed. Bengaluru saw moderate occupancy at 43.25%, with a notable rise in the night shows. Chennai fared slightly better at 44.75%, showing steady attendance throughout the day. However, Hyderabad, the National Capital Region (NCR), and Mumbai struggled with lower turnout, recording occupancies of 23.25%, 26.00%, and 26.50%, respectively. Despite the slow start in these cities, there is hope for improvement over the weekend.

How Much Has Empuraan Earned On Day 1 At India Box Office.

The movie is estimated to have earned around Rs 22 crore on day 1 at the India box office. While the Malayalam version has raked in Rs 19.45 crore, the Telugu version has earned Rs 1.2 crore with the Tamil version collecting Rs 80 lakh, the Kannada and Hindi versions contributing Rs 5 lakh each.

The film has undoubtedly opened to a thunderous response in Kerala, with Kochi, Thrissur, and Kollam recording some of the highest occupancies. While the reception in major metros like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi NCR remains lukewarm, the film is expected to maintain strong momentum in the coming days.
