Ekka OTT Release: Yuva Rajkumar's Kannada Film Likely To Be Out This Date

Yuva Rajkumar's Ekka has done a decent collection at the Karnataka box office. The business of the movie has been largely impacted by the runaway hit of Raj B Shetty-backed Su From So.

Released on July 18, the movie has been having countable shows in Bengaluru theatres. However, the shows are expected to be reduced further next week as Rajinikanth's much-hyped Coolie is making to theatres on August 14.

Hence, Ekka might wind up its theatrical run next week, leading to its OTT release. Amazon Prime has reportedly acquired the digital rights to the Kannada movie.

The movie is likely to be out on August 14. However, the official confirmation is awaited.

Rohit Padakki-film jointly produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Jayanna- Bhogendra and Karthik Gowda, who was earlier associated with Hombale Films.

Sanjana Anand, Sampada Hulivana, Atul Kulkarni, Aditya, Shruti, Sadhu Kokila, Poornachandra Mysore and others are part of the cast.

At the heart of Ekka is Muthu, played by Yuva Rajkumar-a naive, good-hearted youngster from Parvatipura who ends up in Bangalore with the hope of living a clean life. But fate has other plans. Betrayed and broken by a tragic incident, Muthu transforms into a feared underworld figure. Now hiding in Varanasi, he's caught by the police and his past begins to unravel.

The narrative explores his descent into violence, his relationship with his mother Ratna (Shruti), and his turbulent romance with Nandini (Sanjana Anand). While the premise had potential, much of the story unfolds in a predictable manner, without surprises or powerful emotional beats. The trailer had already revealed most of the plot, leaving little freshness for the actual film.
