Dude OTT Release Update: Pradeep's Film To Arrive Earlier Than Expected?

The collection of Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude has dropped drastically over the days.

The initial numbers were definitely something to cheer about. According to trade reports, Dude has managed to pull in a very respectable Rs 70.2 crore (net) in India within its first 14 days, with its worldwide gross striding past the Rs 100 crore mark.

A significant chunk of this-over Rs 54.45 crore-came from its Tamil version, while its Telugu dub has added around Rs 15.75 crore to the kitty.

However, the celebration has hit a bit of a speed bump. After a strong Diwali weekend, the film's collections have seen a drastic drop as it moved into its second week. The momentum from the festive period has slowed, and all eyes are now on how it performs over the coming weekend to see if it can steady the ship.

So, what's Dude all about?

The film follows Gagan (played by Pradeep), a heartbroken young man running an event management company with his cousin, Kundhana (Mamitha Baiju). Their comfortable partnership gets turned upside down when Kundhana confesses her feelings for him. A series of impulsive decisions by the pair then sends their lives spiraling in a completely unexpected direction.

With the theatrical business seeing a decline, the anticipation for its digital debut is naturally starting to build. While earlier reports suggested a potential OTT release in mid-to-late November, the recent drop in collections might just fast-track those plans. The film could be hitting your screens at home sooner than initially expected.

An announcement on its release date might be made next week.

Dude marks the directorial debut of Keerthiswaran and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The cast also features Neha Shetty, R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, and Rohini in supporting roles.
