Dude OTT Release Date: Like Kantara 2, Lokah, Pradeep's Film In Eagerly-Awaited List

Pradeep Ranganathan seems to have found his golden touch. After winning over audiences with Love Today and Dragon, the filmmaker-actor is back with another hit, Dude, making it a hat-trick of successful films.

The movie, which hit theatres for Diwali on October 17th, has been having a great run at the box office. It's not just a Tamil sensation either; the film was released simultaneously in Telugu and has managed to pull in viewers across both languages.

Despite sharing the festive season with other big releases like Bison and Diesel, Dude has held its own. Trade analysts are noticing its strong performance and suggest that if it keeps this momentum through the second weekend, it could easily become one of the season's top earners.

According to trade reports, Dude has managed to earn Rs 57.24 crore (net) in India. The worldwide gross is over Rs 100 crore.

While the Tamil version has raked in over Rs 44 crore, the Telugu version has earned around Rs 13 crore. The movie is expected to do well over the second weekend.

So, what's the story about?

The film follows Gagan (played by Pradeep), a heartbroken young man who runs an event management company with his cousin, Kundhana (Mamitha Baiju). Things get complicated when Kundhana confesses her feelings for him, and a series of impulsive decisions by the pair send their lives in an unexpected direction.

Given the typical 4 to 5-week window for South Indian films to arrive on OTT platforms, you can likely mark your calendars for a potential Netflix debut around November 13th or 20th.

Dude is the directorial debut of Keerthiswaran and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film also features Neha Shetty, R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, and Rohini in supporting roles.
