Dude Box Office Collection: Despite Rains, Pradeep-Starrer Performs Well In 6 Days

Despite rains, Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju-starrer Dude has managed to carve a space for itself amidst the Diwali festivities, showing resilience at the box office in its first week.

The film, which was released on October 17, has successfully crossed a significant milestone, with its total India net collection now standing at an impressive ₹54.05 crore in six days in India while nearing Rs 100-crore mark at the worldwide box office despite parts of the state witnessing heavy rains.

The comedy-drama has demonstrated a strong performance in its core Tamil market. On its sixth day (Wednesday, October 22), the film registered an overall Tamil occupancy of 29.90%. The audience turnout was particularly healthy in the afternoon, evening, and night shows across major Tamil hubs, as per Sacnilk data.

A regional breakdown reveals a robust performance in key cities. Pondicherry led the pack with a stellar 58.75% overall occupancy, followed by Trichy at 50%. Metropolitan centers like Chennai (35%) and Coimbatore (33%) also showed solid numbers, indicating a steady urban draw. The film even found appreciation in non-Tamil metros like Mumbai, recording a strong 42.50% occupancy, the data said.

However, the Telugu version of the film has seen comparatively lower traction. On Day 6, the overall Telugu occupancy was 16.60%, with major cities like Hyderabad (18.25%) and Bengaluru (19.75%) showing modest numbers.

The film's box office journey has been a tale of two halves. It opened strong with a ₹9.75 crore collection on Day 1 and saw a steady growth over the weekend and Monday, peaking at ₹10.8 crore. As expected, collections saw a dip on Tuesday and a sharper decline on Wednesday, with early estimates placing the Day 6 collection at ₹3.75 crore, a common trend on weekdays following a festival period.

Despite the mid-week drop, Dude's ability to hold its ground and post respectable numbers during the competitive Diwali week is being seen as a positive sign. The film's performance in the coming weekend will be crucial in determining its final box office verdict.
