Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Film Comes Out With Flying Colours In Kerala, Karnataka

The much-awaited third instalment in the hugely popular Drishyam franchise has opened to a thunderous response at the box office. Led by Mohanlal, Drishyam 3 has emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of the year, posting sensational numbers during its first five days in theatres.

In its first weekend, the crime thriller has grossed a massive ₹156.14 crore worldwide so far, including ₹71.74 crore from the Indian market and an impressive ₹84.40 crore from overseas territories, according to Sacnilk data. The film's India net collection currently stands at ₹61.80 crore across 25,531 shows, reflecting the franchise's unmatched popularity among family audiences and thriller lovers alike.

The film opened on a strong note on its first Thursday with a worldwide gross of ₹18.37 crore and a net collection of ₹15.85 crore in India. Occupancy stood at a healthy 51.3 per cent across 5,506 shows, proving that the anticipation surrounding Georgekutty's return translated into massive footfalls.

Although collections dipped slightly on Friday to ₹12.81 crore gross, the film regained momentum over the weekend. Saturday witnessed a jump to ₹16 crore, while Sunday recorded the highest single-day collection after release with ₹16.05 crore gross worldwide. Occupancy levels also climbed above 50 per cent during the weekend, indicating strong word-of-mouth among audiences.

Like most big-ticket films, Drishyam 3 saw a predictable drop on Monday, collecting ₹8.51 crore gross. However, trade analysts believe the hold is still excellent considering the film's extraordinary opening weekend and strong competition in some markets.

Kerala once again emerged as the backbone of the film's success. The home state contributed a staggering ₹45.25 crore gross within five days, accounting for more than 60 per cent of the India total. The film consistently performed above expectations in Kerala, especially during the weekend when occupancy surged in family centres and multiplexes.

Karnataka has also turned out to be a highly profitable territory for the film. The state contributed ₹9.80 crore gross so far, making it the second strongest market after Kerala. Bengaluru, Mysuru and Mangaluru reportedly witnessed excellent occupancy, particularly among Malayalam-speaking audiences.

Tamil Nadu too delivered respectable numbers, with collections reaching ₹5.75 crore gross. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed ₹6.25 crore, showcasing the franchise's growing popularity beyond Kerala, the data said.

The overseas market has been phenomenal for the thriller. With ₹84.40 crore already in the kitty, the film has performed exceptionally well in the Gulf region, North America, the UK and Australia. The strong international response once again underlines the global fanbase enjoyed by Mohanlal and the Drishyam franchise.

Language-wise, the Malayalam version continues to dominate, contributing the bulk of collections with ₹7.48 crore gross on Monday alone. Tamil, Telugu and Kannada dubbed versions have also added decent support in regional markets.

Trade experts now believe Drishyam 3 is well on track to enter the ₹200 crore worldwide club if it maintains steady collections during the weekdays. With positive audience feedback, repeat family viewership and minimal competition in the Malayalam market, the film looks set for a long and successful theatrical run.
