Don’t Post False Narratives: Mahhi Vij Warns Legal Action Over Divorce Rumours

Television actor Mahhi Vij warned an Instagram page for allegedly spreading fake narratives around her divorce, threatening to take legal action for spreading misinformation in connection with her divorce reports.

The post read: "It's Over? After 14 years of marriage Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij heading for a divorce, Sources confirmed that the divorce papers were signed and finalised between July and August 2025. The custody of their three children has also been decided. A source told Hindustan Times, "Much was tried, but nothing changed. Separation happened a long time ago. They filed for divorce a couple of months back."

It further read, "Reports suggest that trust issues were a significant reason behind the couple's strained relationship. The couple was last seen together publicly at their daughter Tara's birthday party.. The actress added that people look at single mothers and divorces very differently. She said that many assume there would be drama and that the couple would start blaming each other. She felt that there is a lot of pressure from society and urged everyone to just live and let live."

Responding to the post, she wrote, "Don't post false narratives.ill take legal action against this."

The couple, who wed in 2011, filed for divorce several months ago, with the legal process being completed over the recent summer, Hindustan Times reported. A source told the English publication that the separation had been a long time coming, stating, "Much was tried, but nothing changed." The arrangements for their three children-daughter Tara and their two foster children, Rajveer and Khushi-have also been mutually agreed upon.

The split was preceded by a noticeable shift in their public presence. Once frequent collaborators on social media, they had stopped posting together, with their last joint family picture dating back to June 2024. While they were last seen together publicly for their daughter's birthday in August, they have since been living separately, with Mahhi recently moving into a new home with the children. Despite the separation, they maintain a cordial relationship online. Just last week, Mahhi commented on an Instagram video of Jay with their daughter, engaging in a light-hearted exchange about their parenting styles.
