Diljit Dosanjh’s 'Sardaar Ji 3' Faces Ban In India Over Casting Pakistani Actor Hania Aamir

Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming film 'Sardaar Ji 3' has encountered a setback ahead of its release.

The film, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir alongside Dosanjh, is facing criticism from fans and cinema associations.

After the decision was made to forgo an Indian release, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari said that the organisation intends to issue an official directive banning both Dosanjh and the film's producers from releasing any future projects in India, reported India Today.

Tiwari stated, "None of their films and projects would be allowed to be released in India. There would be complete cooperation from the Indian film industry." He added that a formal announcement would follow later in the day.

The film is not being screened in India due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. On Sunday, 22 June, Dosanjh unveiled the film's trailer on social media and announced its release date.

Posting the trailer on Instagram, he wrote: "'Sardaar Ji 3' Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only/ FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN (sic)."

The film's release in India has been blocked in line with the Indian film industry's unofficial ban on Pakistani actors, reinstated following the horrific Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists and prompted India's retaliatory Operation Sindoor.

The trailer for 'Sardaar Ji 3' has also been geo-restricted on YouTube for viewers in India.

A horror comedy, 'Sardaar Ji 3' stars Diljit Dosanjh, Hania Aamir and Neeru Bajwa. The trailer features Aamir as a ghost hunter, who teams up with Dosanjh to rid a mansion in the United Kingdom of a haunting spirit.

Prior to 'Sardaar Ji 3', FWICE had imposed a similar ban on the Hindi film 'Abir Gulaal', which was to mark Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's return to Indian cinema after a nine-year hiatus.
