Dhurandhar Lifetime Box Office Collection: The Journey of Rs 28 Cr Opening To Rs 1300 Cr Worldwide

Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna's Dhurandhar has rewritten the rules of theatrical endurance, emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters Indian cinema has witnessed in recent times. Released on December 5, 2025, the film didn't just open strong, it stayed the course, dominating screens for over two months before finally slowing down after its OTT debut.

By the end of its theatrical run, Dhurandhar amassed a staggering ₹837.45 crore in India net collections, while its worldwide haul touched ₹1,303.6 crore, cementing its place in the elite ₹1,000-crore club, as per Sacnilk data.

The film set the tone right from day one. With an impressive ₹28 crore opening day, Dhurandhar signalled solid pre-release buzz and strong audience curiosity. The momentum only intensified over the first weekend, with Saturday bringing in ₹32 crore and Sunday exploding to ₹43 crore. This sharp upward curve highlighted strong word of mouth, helping the film close its opening week at a mammoth ₹207.25 crore-a dream start for any big-ticket release.

As expected, weekdays saw a correction in collections, but what stood out was the film's ability to stabilise rather than collapse. Daily figures hovered in the mid-to-high ₹20 crore range for much of the first week, reflecting sustained footfalls across urban multiplexes and mass belts alike. By the end of its first seven days, Dhurandhar had already positioned itself as a confirmed blockbuster.

The second week proved to be a game-changer. After a strong second Friday, the film witnessed an extraordinary surge over the weekend, collecting ₹53 crore on Saturday and ₹58 crore on Sunday-numbers usually reserved for opening weekends. This rare phenomenon pushed the Week 2 total to ₹253.25 crore, even surpassing its first-week tally. Trade experts widely attributed this to repeat audiences, festive footfalls, and the film's gripping narrative keeping conversations alive.

While the third week saw an inevitable dip, Dhurandhar continued to post enviable numbers for a film already past the 15-day mark. With a Week 3 collection of ₹172 crore, the film demonstrated remarkable staying power. Notably, Sunday spikes continued, underlining the film's appeal as a preferred big-screen experience even weeks after release.

From Week 4 onwards, collections gradually declined but never crashed. The film added ₹106.5 crore in Week 4 and ₹51.25 crore in Week 5, showing better holds than most recent big-budget releases. Even as newer films entered theatres, Dhurandhar retained screens and audiences, a testament to its strong recall value.

By Weeks 6, 7, and 8, the film transitioned into a classic long-runner. Though daily figures dipped into single digits, weekend growth remained consistent. The movie added over ₹45 crore across Weeks 6 and 7, followed by ₹5.35 crore in Week 8. Even in its ninth week, Dhurandhar continued to register collections, taking its final India net total to ₹837.45 crore.

Internationally, the film performed exceptionally well, raking in ₹299 crore overseas, driven by strong response in North America, the Middle East, and Australia. This pushed the worldwide total to ₹1,303.6 crore, making Dhurandhar one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever.

With the theatrical chapter now more or less closed and the film streaming on OTT, attention has swiftly shifted to Dhurandhar: Part Two, slated for release on March 19. Given the unprecedented success of the first installment, expectations for the sequel are sky-high-and the box office is already bracing for another storm.
