Dhurandhar 2 Runtime Nearly 4 Hours: Ranveer Singh to Be One of Bollywood’s Longest Films in 26 Years?

Speculation surrounding Ranveer Singh's upcoming film Dhurandhar: The Revenge has intensified, with multiple trade reports suggesting that the sequel could run close to four hours. If the reported duration holds, the film may rank among the longest mainstream Hindi releases in the last 26 years.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action-packed sequel is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026. However, the makers have not yet officially confirmed the final runtime.

What Do the Reports Say?

According to trade insiders and newswire reports, internal estimates reportedly place Dhurandhar 2 between 3 hours 40 minutes (220 minutes) and 3 hours 55 minutes (235 minutes).

If the longer duration is certified, the film would come close to the runtime of LOC Kargil, directed by JP Dutta, which ran for 4 hours and 7 minutes - making it one of the longest Hindi films in modern Bollywood history.

Trade analysts note that a 3-hour-55-minute runtime would make Dhurandhar 2 the second-longest mainstream Hindi film in over two decades.

Longer Than the First Part?

The original Dhurandhar had a certified runtime of 214.01 minutes (3 hours, 34 minutes and 1 second). Any final cut exceeding 220 minutes would clearly make the sequel significantly longer than the first installment.

Industry observers suggest that big-budget franchise films in Hindi cinema have increasingly leaned toward extended runtimes to accommodate expansive storytelling, large ensemble casts and high-scale action sequences.

Certification Still Pending

Sources emphasise that the reported runtime figures remain provisional. The final duration will be locked only after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) completes its screening and issues a certificate, potentially recommending edits.

Until then, the nearly four-hour figure remains speculative.

Star Cast and Additional Buzz

The sequel brings Ranveer Singh back alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun. Akshaye Khanna is reportedly set to appear in flashback sequences, reprising his much-appreciated role from the first film.

Reports have also hinted at a possible appearance by Vicky Kaushal, potentially reprising Major Vihaan Singh Shergill from Uri: The Surgical Strike - a detail that has further fueled anticipation.
