Dhruv Rathee On Ranveer Allahbadia’s Remarks: “Not Even Funny, Just Pure Nonsense”
Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has spoken out against the viral video showing podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia making crude remarks on comedian Samay Raina's controversial show India's Got Latent.
Allahbadia's comments sparked widespread backlash on social media. The Mumbai Police have registered a complaint against the show's creators, while Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for action.

Dhruv Rathee, known for his informative content, joined the debate and strongly criticised the use of vulgar language in comedy. "I have always been against abusive and vulgar language. In the 1,000+ videos, shorts, and reels I have made, you won't find a single abusive word for anyone. What is being done today in the name of 'dank' comedy is pure nonsense. The only purpose is to shock and disgust audiences for views, which is having a disastrous impact on the moral development of our youth," he said.
However, Rathee did not support banning or censoring such content. "Calling for government bans is not the solution, as it could lead to harsh censorship. Instead, we should pressurise content creators to produce better material. Shows like India's Got Latent have the same negative impact on society's moral fabric as films like Animal, and they need to be called out in strong terms," he added.
His statement came just hours after Ranveer Allahbadia issued an apology. In a minute-long video, he admitted his mistake, calling his remarks a "lapse of judgment." He stated, "My comment was not just inappropriate; it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to apologise. I will not offer any context, justification, or reasoning. I take full responsibility."
Interestingly, Dhruv Rathee was one of the earliest guests on The Ranveer Show, Allahbadia's popular podcast, in 2021.
