Dharmendra Death Hoax: Hema Malini Slams TV Channels Spreading "False News"

Veteran actress and BJP leader Hema Malini has slammed the death hoax around her husband and legendary actor Dharmendra, saying he is responding to the treatment.

In a post on X, she said, "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."

Since last evening, there have been a lot of rumours claiming that he passed away. Several notable celebrities expressed condolences which only created a lot of confusion.

Dharmendra's daughter Esha Deol has also shot down the fake news.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote, "The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa's speedy recovery,"

It has to be noted that Sunny Deol's Team has also issued clarification on Dharmendra's health a few times. "Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family's right to privacy," a statement from the PR read.

Hema Malini, Dharmendra's wife, was seen visiting the hospital and expressed optimism about his recovery. Sunny Deol also arrived at the hospital to be with his father.

Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan visited the hospital to enquire about his health.

Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema's most beloved stars, has appeared in numerous iconic films, including Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Dream Girl, The Burning Train, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He holds the record for the most consecutive box office hits in 1987, notably with Hukumat.
