Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have become proud parents of a baby boy on February 15.

Kohli announced the news of welcoming a new member to his family on Tuesday. They are already parents of a three-year-old daughter Vamika.

"With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world!," Kohli informed in an Instagram post.

He further stated, "We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time." Kohli had opted out of the ongoing Test series against England, citing personal reasons.

What is the meaning of Akaay?

Since the announcement, there has been a great deal of curiosity surrounding the name - Akaay. The name has multiple meanings.

As per one report, the name originates from the Hindi word 'kaya', which means 'body' when translated. Akaay refers to an individual who transcends their physical form.

In Sanskrit, Akaay means 'immortal' or anything that does not decay.

In Turkish, the word 'Akaay' signifies a 'radiant moon'. Well, it has a gender-neutral meaning.

It has to be noted that the meaning of their daughter's name 'Vamika' derives from Sanskrit and it is the name of Goddess Durga.

The couple had married in December 2017 in Italy.
