Darshan’s Mother Breaks Down During First Jail Visit After Arrest In Renuka Swamy Murder Case

Meena Thoogudeepa, the mother of actor Darshan, visited him at the Parapana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru on Monday. She was accompanied by her son Dinakar, Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi, and their son Vineesh. This marks their first visit to Darshan since his arrest on June 9 in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy.

Rumors had been circulating that Darshan was not on speaking terms with his mother and brother due to familial issues. It is believed this estrangement was the reason they had not visited him at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station. However, they have now decided to reconcile and meet the actor.

Reportedly, Darshan's mother broke down upon seeing him, but Darshan and his brother Dinakar consoled her.

On June 22, a court remanded Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to judicial custody until July 4 in the Renuka Swamy murder case. His four alleged accomplices were also sent to judicial custody. Darshan had been in police custody since June 11.

A total of 17 people are accused in the murder case. According to police sources, Renuka Swamy, a fan of the actor, had sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, which allegedly enraged Darshan and led to Renuka Swamy's murder. Renuka Swamy's body was found near a stormwater drain adjacent to an apartment in Sumanahalli on June 9. The post-mortem report revealed that his death was caused by shock and hemorrhage resulting from multiple blunt injuries.

Meanwhile, filmmakers are planning to make a movie about the murder. A Times of India report states that numerous directors have approached the Film Chamber of Commerce seeking approval to adapt the case into a screenplay. Filmmakers have attempted to register titles such as 'D-Gang,' 'Pattanagere Shed,' and 'Khaidi No 6106.'
