Criminal Justice Season 4 Ending Explained

The season revolves around Dr. Raj Nagpal (Pankaj Tripathi), his estranged wife Anju Nagpal (Surveen Chawla), their daughter Ira, who has Asperger's, and Roshni Saluja, a nurse with whom Raj is having an affair. Tensions rise when Roshni is found murdered after Ira's birthday celebration, with Raj discovered holding her bloodied body.

Raj becomes the prime suspect, prompting Anju to hire lawyer Madhav Mishra to defend him. As the case unfolds, buried secrets come to light. Anju is also arrested after she confesses to killing Roshni during a confrontation where she saw Roshni allegedly poisoning Ira. Anju claims she accidentally killed Roshni in a fit of rage.

However, the story doesn't end there.

In a dramatic twist, Raj later reveals to Madhav that Anju is suffering from terminal pancreatic cancer. This revelation leads Madhav to revisit the case details, realizing Anju's confession was a calculated lie to protect Raj and Ira. In truth, it was Raj who killed Roshni after discovering her poisoning Ira, and Anju, aware of her limited time, took the blame to ensure Ira wouldn't lose both parents.

In a powerful closing scene, Anju admits the truth to Madhav, who secretly records the conversation. But in an act of compassion, Madhav chooses to delete the recording, allowing the family to move forward with dignity.

Fans Laud Season 4's Depth and Performances

The show's emotional complexity, combined with Pankaj Tripathi's stellar performance, has left viewers eagerly anticipating the next season. The blend of legal drama, personal sacrifice, and moral dilemmas has struck a chord, with many praising the writers for delivering a satisfying and thought-provoking conclusion.
