Cocktail 2 Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Shahid Kapoor's Film?

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer romantic comedy drama Cocktail 2 has hit the screens on Friday.

Homi Adajania-directed movie has Pritam's music, Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran's cinematography and Akshara Prabhakar's editing.

It is a spiritual sequel to Cocktail (2012) and stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna[5] in the lead roles.[6][7]

What begins as a dreamy Sicilian getaway for Shahid and Rashmika soon unravels into a tangled love triangle when Rashmika invites her old friend Kriti to secretly test her boyfriend's loyalty.

The movie has generated a lot of hype with its promos and trailer.

Nishit Shaw: #Cocktail2 First Half:
Too Basic and appears stretched pre-interval. But, is also enjoyable due to the music and visually appealing locations.
The best thing is that Shahid Kapoor is really enjoying this one and I can sense it. All eyes on the second half now.

#Cocktail2 is a well-written and deftly directed rom-com entertainer that keeps audiences engaged throughout its runtime.
The first half is breezy, fun-filled and thoroughly entertaining, packed with humour, stunning international locales and a chartbuster soundtrack. The second half shifts gears into a more dramatic zone, delivering several emotionally charged moments that leave a strong impact, climax is excellent and serves as the main highlight of this film.

#ShahidKapoor is terrific and anchors the film with confidence. #KritiSanon looks stunning and delivers an excellent performance, while #RashmikaMandanna does a commendable job in her role.

Overall, Cocktail 2 is a worthy continuation of the beloved franchise and has all the ingredients to emerge as a successful box-office performer.

KRK: 20 minutes horrible film is gone. 45 years old Shahid Kapoor is trying to play 20 years old. Rashmika is trying to speak Hindi in Telugu style. Buddha Writer Luv Ranjan is trying to write story of 20 years old youngsters. What the f**k is this film #Cocktail2. Totally out of the place.

They literally picked up the loyalty test sub-plot from #TJMM and made it into an entire film with unnecessary fillers and stretched scenes. The second half tests your patience.

ANMOL JAMWAL: Any triangle love story is effective when the conflict has good reason! It makes the audience root for the union of two characters
But when the conflict itself is a nothing burger: how do you even get invested in the story!!
