The premiere attracted Bollywood's elite, including Shahid Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Nimrit Kaur, and Rasika Duggal, who were among the first to witness this high-stakes espionage drama.
Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur shared her thoughts on Instagram Stories, describing the series as "mad" and "brilliant." Citadel Universe Expands
Following the global success of the original Citadel series with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in 2023, this Indian adaptation adds a unique flavour to the expanding universe. Under the executive production of the Russo Brothers' AGBO, the franchise continues to explore the ongoing conflict between the Citadel spy agency and their adversary, Manticore.
The storyline introduces Varun Dhawan in a dual role as Bunny, a stuntman who recruits Samantha's character Honey into espionage. As former spies, they must protect their daughter Nadia when their perilous past catches up with them. This intriguing narrative promises to captivate audiences with its twists and turns.
Directorial Excellence
Directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K (Raj & DK), known for successful series like Farzi and Guns & Gulaabs, bring their signature style to this high-stakes thriller. Their involvement has generated significant anticipation due to their track record of delivering compelling content.
Citadel: Honey Bunny represents India's entry into the franchise and follows the recent release of the Italian spin-off Citadel: Diana. The series arrives as production continues on the second season of the main Citadel series, showcasing its ambitious global scope.
Release Date Announcement
The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7, 2024. It promises a unique blend of action, espionage, and drama synonymous with the Citadel franchise while maintaining its distinctly Indian identity.
The creative minds behind this project have ensured that it stands out within the franchise while appealing to a broad audience. With its engaging storyline and talented cast, Citadel: Honey Bunny is poised to make a significant impact upon release.
