Christopher Nolan, Tom Holland And Matt Damon Set For The Odyssey Mumbai Premiere

Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan is set to visit Mumbai this July for the Indian premiere of his highly anticipated mythic action epic, The Odyssey, marking the first time a Christopher Nolan film will premiere on Indian soil. The Academy Award-winning filmmaker behind Oppenheimer, Interstellar, Inception, and The Dark Knight trilogy will attend the film's Mumbai premiere, which will also be his first-ever premiere event in India. Universal Pictures International has added Mumbai to its list of premiere locations alongside London, Paris, and New York.

Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Academy Award-winning producer Emma Thomas will also attend the premiere. The event will be held at PVR ICON IMAX Phoenix Palladium in Mumbai. The film will then arrive in cinemas across India in all formats on July 17, 2026.

Set after the fall of Troy, The Odyssey follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, played by Matt Damon, as he embarks on a dangerous ten-year journey back home. Along the way, he faces legendary enemies including the enchantress Circe, the Sirens, and the Cyclops Polyphemus, while the gods Poseidon and Athena influence his destiny. Meanwhile, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus, played by Tom Holland, struggle to protect his legacy in Ithaca.

The Odyssey had already generated significant buzz long before its release due to the scale of its production. The film was shot across multiple locations around the world using brand-new IMAX film technology. It is the first feature film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.

Given the massive scale of the production, excitement surrounding the film has reached extraordinary levels even before its premiere. Tickets for IMAX screenings have already sold out in several cities, including Melbourne, London, Delhi, and Mumbai.
