Choo Mantar OTT Release: When Will Sharan's Kannada Movie Hit The Screens?

Sharan's Choo Mantar is a horror comedy film, directed by Navneeth of Karva fame. After much delay, the Kannada movie, which revolves around exorcism, hit the screens on January 10.

The movie has Meghana Gaonkar, Aditi Prabhudeva, Prabhu Mundkur, Chikkanna, Rajani Bharadwaj and others in the cast. The main plot of the film is said to be around exorcism. The movie has Avinash R Basutkar's music and Chandan Shetty has scored the music. It has Anup Kattukaran's cinematography and Venki UDV's editing.

The story revolves around Dynamo aka Gowtham, an exorcist, and his friends. They embark on a journey to find a treasure supposedly hidden beneath a haunted place called Morgan House with a colonial past. Once they land there, the four friends realise that they have a connection to the dreaded house. What follows next is the interesting part of the story.

How Is Choo Mantar?

It is a mildly entertaining horror-comedy movie with predictable tropes and clichéd storyline. While the first half holds promise, the second half becomes overly predictable, with comedy feeling more forced than situational. Sharan delivers his usual performance, and Prabhu Mundkur shines in a small role, while Meghana and Aditi fit well into their characters. Chikkanna's comic timing is on point, though his chemistry with Sharan lacks spark.

Resul Pookutty's sound design and Anup Kattukaran's cinematography add depth to the horror atmosphere, but the film offers little technical innovation. Overall, it is one-time watch.

Choo Mantar OTT Rights

Amazon Prime has acquired the digital rights. However, it is not clear how much the streaming company paid for the rights.

As far as the release date is concerned, Sharan's movie will release in February but the exact date is yet to be announced.
